The United States Census Bureau moved to New Britain as its main headquarters that will serve as one of the largest regional offices in the State of Connecticut serving a number of regions.
The Census Bureau will be hiring over 1,200 part time positions to serve the City of New Britain and surrounding towns. The office space that is made up of approximately 10,000 square feet will be leased for approximately two years.
The choice of New Britain was a very easy one according to a Federal Census Bureau spokesperson. The "city is centrally located with tremendous highway access in addition to meeting our space and parking needs. It was a great choice." |
